The first stage was to draw the Christmas tree branches using oil pastels on black paper. We talked about the angles between the branch and the needles and learned how to make the tree more vibrant by using a range of greens.

The next step was to create some beautifully painted paper for the baubles using a mixture of wet-in-wet technique and gold paint:

The children really enjoyed experimenting with the watercolour paint:

We now have to wait for the paper to dry before we can finish our cards but I am sure that they will be spectacular. I will post some of the results as soon as they are ready.
