Focus on Year Two

During this half-term, pupils in Year 2 have been finding out more about the geography of the local area. For example, they now know that Cambridge is a city, although it does not have a cathedral. They have also found out that Cambridge University has 31 colleges and that the river flowing through Cambridge is the River Cam. This week, pupils have been comparing the city of Cambridge with the village of Willingham. There has been a particular focus on interpreting maps and identifying physical and human features of both settlements. We are really pleased with the children’s level of engagement and their enthusiasm for geography learning.
